Late spring has brought an end to the drought like conditions, so the rain is welcome for growers but less so for visitors, although all of visitors to the Market have been totally unworried by the showers.
We always like to see visitors, some regular and some new faces. It will be interesting to see how the Olympics affect the Market.
The wide range of plants available at this time of year always does the Market proud. As well as sweet peas, lobelias and begonias we have various perennials. Then there are all the veg plants, from unusual tomatoes to squash, beans, peppers and artichokes with, with, of course, a lifetimes experience and knowledge on offer if needed.
The Craft table has had a 'make over' and some affordable yet classy jewellery, by Cath, has been added. The entrance hall of St John's Hall is now decked out with some of the Craft available.
Inside under cover is the meat, veg, baking, savouries, bread and plants all making the Market worth a visit.
Tea coffee and infusions are available until 12 o'clock with biscuits or a home made cake off the baking table. All the bakers try to keep different things coming in, so there is always something new to look out for. Apricot munchies, a lower sugar flat jack, are proving popular.
It has been awhile since i mentioned our eggs. As well as our range of free range eggs from Glyn we also offer Margret Pengelly's Bantam eggs and oh do they have flavour, so particular to a Bantam. Me, well i have them poached on some Spelt loaf from the Market, simple and a proper job.
Hope to see you soon and don't forget to mention the web site.
